Riverside County is located in the southeastern part of California, stretching from Orange County and extending up to the Colorado River. The County is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area and is one of its fastest developing regions.

The County stretches east-west like a big rectangle, encompassing an area of 7,200 square miles of fertile valleys, scenic deserts, breathtaking mountains, foothills and rolling plains. Long before the arrival of Europeans, Native American groups such as the Serranos, the Cupenos, the Luisenos, the Chemehuevi, and the Cahuillas inhabited the land that is today Riverside County.

Riverside County was officially formed on May 9, 1893 from parts of San Bernardino and San Diego Counties. Riverside City is the county seat. Neighboring communities of Riverside County include Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and San Diego Counties.

The residents of Riverside County enjoy the wonderful sunny Southern Californian climate. The County offers affordable housing choices and a wide selection of homes ranging from the traditional to contemporary.
